iOS 27.2: 8 New iPhone Features Coming Soon

The update is currently in beta testing, with Apple releasing its fourth developer and public betas on October 13, 2026. A public release is expected later in October, although Apple hasn’t confirmed an exact date.

20 Hidden iOS 27 Features That Make Your iPhone So Much Better

Here are eight features and changes worth watching.

1. Siri AI Expands to More Languages

One of the biggest improvements in iOS 27.2 is expanded language support for Siri AI.

Previously available in English, Siri AI now supports French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish in the beta.

This makes Apple’s advanced assistant accessible to more iPhone users worldwide.

2. Use Both Cameras During Group FaceTime

iOS 27.2 expands Dual Capture to Group FaceTime calls.

On supported iPhones, you can use the front and rear cameras simultaneously, letting participants see your face and what you’re looking at.

The feature requires an iPhone 17 or newer and compatible software on other participants’ devices.

3. Apple Music Gets a Fresh Look

Apple is updating Apple Music’s visual design.

The beta replaces some familiar red accents with black and blue elements, including changes to the app icon and navigation controls.

It’s a relatively small update, but one regular Apple Music listeners will notice.

4. Apple TV Profiles Come to iPhone

The Apple TV app gains support for multiple user profiles on iPhone.

Family members can maintain separate viewing experiences, while parents can create profiles with age-appropriate content restrictions.

This is especially useful for households sharing an iPhone or iPad.

5. Redesigned Apple Health App

Apple is testing a major Health app redesign with three sections: Insights, Longevity and Browse.

A new Health Age feature estimates fitness-related age using health metrics and supported assessments.

However, the redesigned Health app may arrive in a later update rather than the final iOS 27.2 release.

6. Apple Podcasts Gets Better Organization

The Podcasts app receives a few helpful changes.

The Up Next section becomes New Episodes, with Continue Playing positioned below it. Episode lists also receive backgrounds that match podcast artwork.

These changes should make it easier to find new episodes and resume listening.

7. A Possible New Anti-Theft Feature

Apple is reportedly developing a feature called AutoLock, designed to help protect iPhones from theft or snatching.

References to the feature have appeared in iOS 27.2 beta code, but it isn’t confirmed for the public release.

For now, users should continue relying on Find My and Stolen Device Protection.

8. New CarPlay Ultra Customization

Apple is also working on additional customization options for CarPlay Ultra.

Beta code suggests new themes that could change dashboard colors, wallpapers and instrument-cluster styles. Supported vehicles may eventually coordinate ambient lighting with the selected theme.

These capabilities remain in development and may not ship with iOS 27.2.

When Will iOS 27.2 Be Released?

Apple is expected to release iOS 27.2 later in October 2026, potentially after the October 23 launch of the iPhone Duo.

The foldable iPhone will initially ship with iOS 27.1, while other supported iPhones are expected to move directly from iOS 27 to iOS 27.2.

Once available, you’ll be able to install the update through Settings → General → Software Update.

Final Verdict

iOS 27.2 looks like a useful update, particularly for users interested in expanded Siri AI languages, Group FaceTime Dual Capture, Apple TV profiles and Apple Music improvements.

Some other additions, including the redesigned Health app and anti-theft protections, are still being tested and may arrive later.

For most users, waiting for the stable public release is preferable to installing beta software on their primary iPhone.
